Miller® Maxstar® 280 Multiprocess Welder (Tweco®) 907552001

The Miller® Maxstar® 280 Multiprocess (Tweco®) is a 280 amp welder that performs Pulsed- DC TIG, DC TIG, and stick, plus MIG and flux-cored welding; when paired with an OPTIONAL voltage sensing wire feeder. It features advanced DC TIG waveform controls, and comes complete with both Lift-Arc™ and high frequency TIG arc starts. The built-in TIG pulser can be set from 0 to 250 pulses per second (PPS).

The Maxstar 280 Multiprocess provides up to 280 amps of DC welding output. At just 47 pounds, the Maxstar 280 Multiprocess can weld up to 3/8 inch steel, yet weight hundreds of pounds less than comparable welders in the same welding output class. When paired with an OPTIONAL Miller® ArcReach® Suitcase 8 or 12 voltage-sensing wire feeder, the 280 Multiprocess becomes an excellent MIG or flux-cored welder.

Upgradeable and expandable. Front panel memory card data port provides the ability to easily upgrade software and expand product features.

Pro-Set™ feature (professional settings) eliminates the guesswork when setting weld parameters. Use Pro-Set when you want the speed, convenience and confidence of pre-set controls. Simply select the feature and adjust until Pro-Set appears on the display. The Pro-Set feature is available for Balance, Frequency, Pulse, and DIG parameters.

Auto-Line™ provides state-of-the-art flexibility by automatically connecting to 208-575 VAC, single- or three- phase power without removing the covers to re-link the power source. No longer is there a concern if you have the correct machine for the shop or the job site.

Cooler Power Supply (CPS). An integrated 120-volt dedicated-use receptacle to power the Coolmate™ 1.3. The power switch on the Dynasty also activates the receptacle to help prevent torch failure.

Blue Lightning™ high-frequency arc starter for non-contact arc initiation. Provides more consistent arc starts and greater reliability compared to traditional HF arc starters. Easy to set and increases productivity

Meter calibration. Digital meters can be calibrated to a standard device for certification.

Wind Tunnel Technology™ protects internal electrical components from airborne contaminates, extending the product life.

Fan-On-Demand™ power source cooling system operates only when needed, reducing noise, energy use and the amount of contaminates pulled though the machine

Thermal Overload Protection - Internal components are protected from damage by thermal overload protection which automatically shuts down the unit if duty cycle is exceeded or air flow and cooling are restricted.

DC TIG Features

Pulse - pulsing can increase puddle agitation, arc stability and travel speeds while reducing heat input and distortion.

Square provides a fast freezing puddle for ultimate arc control.

DC Stick Features

Adaptive control provides positive arc starts without sticking.
Stick-Stuck
Detects if the electrode is stuck to the part and turns the welding output off to safely and easily remove the electrode. Menu selectable.

MIG Features

CV output of the power source gives this unit MIG process capabilities when paired with an ArcReach® SuitCase® feeder (or other voltage-sensing feeder).
The feeder is powered off the arc voltage of the power source and can run both solid and flux-cored wires.
