How Desiccant Dehumidifiers Work

Desiccant dehumidifiers use a process called adsorption (different from absorption) to remove moisture from damp air and saturated surfaces. This process uses a Silica Gel wheel, plus an internal heater, to recirculate drier air throughout a room, reducing overall humidity levels and drying surfaces. The higher the temperature and relative humidity, the more pints of moisture removed. But remarkably, this unit continues removing moisture in low humidity and low temperature conditions unlike a conventional refrigerant dehumidifier.
